University Medical Center of Goettingen (UMG-GOE)

University Medical Center of Goettingen The UMG-GOE is a University Hospital including various neurological and neuroscience departments. Parkinson’s research is integrated in all departments including patient clinics in the Departments of Neurology and Cllinical Neurophysiology, deep brain stimulation in the Department of Neurosurgery and molecularpathology and a-synuclein research in the Institute of Neuropathology. These departments, together with the Paracelsus-Elena Hospital in Kassel, build the Parkinson Center Goettingen /Kassel. The Paracelsus-Elena Hospital in Kassel is an academic cooperation Hospital of the UMG since 2011 and it is the largest Parkinson and Movement Disorder specialized Hospital in Germany and in Europe. This hospital includes a clinical study center for clinical trials, a strong recruitment center and a research unit, financed among others by grants from the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (MJFF) for more than 5 years.

Claudia Trenkwalder

 

 

Claudia Trenkwalder is a Professor of Neurology and Movement Disorders and she is the Medical Director of Paracelsus-Elena Hospital, Kassel. Her clinical research is focused on Parkinson and sleep, Parkinson therapy, with more than 310 peer-reviewed publications. She is the secretary-elect of the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society.

Brit Mollenhauer

Brit Mollenhauer

 

Brit Mollenhauer is an Assistant Professor and movement disorder specialist with specialty training in neurochemistry. She is an expert in biomarker for PD, including assay development and validation with focus on α-synuclein and other proteins. She is a member of executive steering committee of the Parkinson Progression Marker Initiative (PPMI) study (MJFF) and co-chair of the bioanalytics core of PPMI.
