Ethical Advisory Board

PROPAG-AGEING will touch upon special ethical aspects in the project, which has been deemed to be of particular importance, thus an Ethical Advisory Board will be appointed from the outset of the project. This board will review ethical aspects of activities within the project and recommend guidelines for experimental procedures.

The members described below compose the Ethical Advisory Board:

  • Giovanni Levi: head of the laboratory of “Evolution des régulations endocriniennes et Regulations lorsde la morphogénese” at the “Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle” (UMR CNRS/MNHN 7221), Paris, France. He is a top scientist in with great expertise in the molecular biology and biochemistry of development and morphogenesis, and could provide his remarkable expertise regarding the ethical issues related to PROPAG-AGEING activities on cellular models.
  • Virgilia Toccaceli: Research Associate at the Unit of Genetic Epidemiology of the “National Centre for Epidemiology, Surveillance and Health Promotion”, Istituto Superiore Di Sanità (ISS), Rome, Italy. She has great expertise in the generation and management of biobanks of large epidemiological studies, with outstanding knowledge regarding the ethical and legal requirements related to this kind of research bio-banking.
